Former US President Donald Trump addressed the nation, vowing a strong economic boom if returned to office and sharply criticising President Joe Biden’s policies.
In his televised remarks, Trump claimed the US economy had weakened under Democratic leadership, promising swift recovery through what he described as decisive action.
Trump accused the Biden administration of mismanaging inflation, energy policy, and government spending, arguing these factors burdened ordinary Americans.
He said rising prices, job uncertainty, and high interest rates were direct results of policies adopted after he left the White House.
Highlighting his own record, Trump pointed to lower fuel prices, stronger growth, and business confidence during his presidency.
He promised tax relief, increased domestic energy production, and incentives for manufacturing to bring jobs back to the United States.
Trump also pledged to cut regulations, strengthen trade policies, and protect American industries from what he called unfair foreign competition.
He argued that these steps would revive investment, boost wages, and restore what he described as economic independence.
The former president used the address to rally supporters, presenting the upcoming election as a choice between decline and recovery.
He claimed voters were struggling more now than during his term and urged them to support a return to his economic agenda.
Democratic leaders dismissed Trump’s remarks, defending Biden’s economic record and citing job creation and infrastructure spending.
They accused Trump of ignoring global challenges and exaggerating economic problems for political gain.
