A delegation of Pakistani doctors living in the United States met the PM on Monday to discuss potential investments in Pakistan’s healthcare sector. The doctors expressed strong interest in supporting the country’s medical development.
During the meeting, the delegation praised the PM for recent improvements in healthcare delivery and medical infrastructure. They highlighted progress at both federal and provincial levels and appreciated the government’s focus on public health.
The visiting doctors emphasised that overseas Pakistani professionals are eager to contribute to Pakistan’s development. They noted that investment from abroad can help modernise hospitals, expand specialised care, and strengthen long-term reforms in the health sector.
The PM welcomed the delegation’s initiative and asked them to submit a “workable and practical roadmap” for proposed investments. He said collaboration with overseas professionals could significantly enhance healthcare services nationwide.
The prime minister also instructed the Economic Affairs Division to resolve any administrative or regulatory barriers related to these investment proposals. He assured the doctors that the government is committed to facilitating overseas professionals and enabling them to play a meaningful role in Pakistan’s economic and social development.
Officials noted that the health sector offers ample opportunities for modernisation, innovation, and increased specialised care. Investment from Pakistani doctors abroad is expected to provide long-term improvements in hospitals and medical services.
This initiative reflects Pakistan’s growing focus on engaging its diaspora in national development. By welcoming investments from US-based Pakistani doctors, the PM aims to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and promote sustainable growth in the sector.
