Pakistan Announces Squad for ACC U19 Asia Cup 2025

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled its squad for the ACC U19 Asia Cup 2025, showcasing a blend of young talent and promising players ready to compete at the continental level. The tournament, set to be a key platform for emerging cricketers, will feature teams from across Asia, including India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal.

The 15-member squad includes standout performers from Pakistan’s domestic youth tournaments. Key batsmen and all-rounders have been selected for their consistent performances in the National U19 Championships, while young bowlers with impressive strike rates in domestic circuits have also earned spots. PCB officials said the squad reflects a balance between experienced campaigners and newcomers who have shown potential to shine under pressure.

Captaincy has been handed to a seasoned U19 player who has previously led Pakistan in regional tournaments, bringing both leadership skills and on-field tactical awareness. The vice-captaincy and other leadership roles have been assigned to players with strong domestic track records, aiming to strengthen team dynamics and mentoring among younger squad members.

Coaches highlighted that the squad selection was based on performance, fitness, and adaptability to different conditions. They emphasized that preparing young players for high-pressure situations is crucial for nurturing future stars of Pakistan cricket. Specialized training sessions, including strategy workshops, fielding drills, and net practices, have been scheduled before the team departs for the tournament.

The ACC U19 Asia Cup 2025 is expected to be held in a major Asian cricketing nation, with matches streamed globally, giving young players exposure to international audiences and scouts. PCB hopes that the tournament will serve as a stepping stone for Pakistan’s next generation, helping players transition smoothly from youth cricket to senior-level competitions.

Fans and cricket experts have welcomed the squad announcement, noting that several players have shown potential to follow in the footsteps of former U19 stars who progressed to Pakistan’s senior national team. The team’s preparation and performance in the Asia Cup will be closely watched as a measure of Pakistan’s future cricketing prospects.
