White House Says US Not Taking Part in G20 Talks in South Africa

The White House has confirmed that the United States will not participate in G20 talks being held in South Africa. Officials said there is no change in the current policy.

According to the spokesperson, the US will only send representation for basic formalities. It will not join the main discussion sessions of the summit.

The decision follows earlier statements that the US disagrees with some priorities set for the G20 agenda this year. Washington believes these issues do not align with its current foreign policy direction.

South Africa had suggested that the US might reconsider its stance, but American officials rejected those claims. They said reports of a policy shift were inaccurate.

Only a limited US presence is expected at the event. The country will not be involved in any negotiation or declaration drafting.

The move adds tension to the summit, as several member states had hoped for full US participation. Analysts say the absence may affect key discussions.
