The Sindh government has officially authorized Karachi’s traffic authorities to issue e-challans to government vehicles that violate traffic rules.
A notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department—signed by Section Officer CT Aqeel Hussain Mako—states that any official vehicle caught breaking traffic laws will be fined, and the responsible officer or employee must pay the penalty themselves under Section 116A of the Traffic Ordinance 1956.
The directive has been circulated to major provincial departments and officials, including the Board of Revenue, Anti-Corruption Establishment, Planning & Development, CM Inspection Team, SPSC, and divisional commissioners.
Violations covered under the e-challan system include driving without a seatbelt, tinted windows, red-light jumping, and using mobile phones while driving.
