Bollywood actors Shreyas Talpade and Alok Nath are under investigation for their alleged involvement in a massive investment fraud that has stunned India’s entertainment industry.
Authorities in Uttar Pradesh claim the two, along with others, lured investors with promises of unusually high returns before diverting funds for personal use. The scheme, reportedly operating as a pyramid network, collapsed once new investments stopped coming in.
As complaints mounted, officials launched a full probe into the scam, which affected a large number of investors. Legal proceedings against both actors are currently underway, and they could face serious penalties if found guilty.
Shreyas Talpade has yet to issue a public statement, though his legal team is reportedly preparing a defense.
