The federal government has announced a fresh reduction in the prices of petroleum products, issuing an official notification detailing the revised rates.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the price of petrol has been slashed by Rs5.66 per litre, bringing it down from Rs268.68 to Rs263.02 per litre. Similarly, the rate of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been reduced by Rs1.94 per litre, now priced at Rs275.41, compared to the earlier Rs276.81.
The government has also decreased the price of kerosene oil by Rs3.26 per litre, lowering it from Rs184.97 to Rs181.71, while Light Diesel Oil (LDO) now costs Rs162.76 per litre, reflecting a Rs2.74 reduction from Rs165.50.
These revised petroleum prices will take effect from midnight and remain in force for the next fifteen days. The government reviews fuel prices on a fortnightly basis, adjusting them in line with global market trends and currency exchange fluctuations. The latest price cut aims to provide relief to consumers already burdened by rising living costs and inflation.a
