The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced the postponement of several written exams scheduled for October 11 and 12. The decision affects thousands of students across Pakistan.
The exams delayed include the Undergraduate Studies Admission Test (USAT), the Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT), and the AML-CFT Recruitment Test. According to HEC officials, the move was made due to the current law and order situation in various parts of the country.
A revised schedule will be released soon. All registered candidates will be notified individually about the new dates and examination details.
Security Measures Disrupt Daily Life
The announcement follows widespread disruptions in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, where authorities implemented strict security measures ahead of a political protest. Major roads were blocked using containers, and entry points were restricted, causing difficulties for commuters.
Mobile internet services, including 3G and 4G, were suspended in both cities. Students, lawyers, and daily commuters faced challenges reaching schools, courts, and workplaces. Public transport, including the Metro Bus, was temporarily halted, and businesses along Murree Road were ordered to close.
The Ministry of Interior and Narcotics Control directed the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to ensure coordination with local authorities, maintaining the internet suspension until the situation stabilizes.
