Notorious gangster Teefi Butt, the main suspect in the Ameer Balaj murder case, was shot dead by his own associates on the outskirts of Rahim Yar Khan on Saturday morning, police sources confirmed.
Teefi Butt, whose real name was Khwaja Tareef, had been arrested in Dubai with Interpol’s help and brought back to Pakistan for investigation. He was being transported to Lahore for further questioning when the incident occurred.
According to police, two close associates attacked the police convoy on Ahmedpur Lama Road. They opened fire, killing Teefi Butt instantly. The assailants managed to escape before law enforcement could respond.
Teefi Butt was considered one of Lahore’s most influential underworld figures. He was reportedly involved in land grabbing, extortion, and illegal weapons possession. For years, he had operated through a loyal network of gang members and remained a wanted criminal across Punjab.
