Dubai Police have arrested a man for illegally performing hair transplant procedures inside his apartment without a medical license.
Authorities said the unlicensed operations posed serious health risks and violated UAE laws regulating medical and cosmetic practices. The suspect promoted his services online, posting videos and offering low-cost procedures to attract clients.
During the raid, police discovered surgical instruments, medical devices, and chemicals used in transplants, including anesthetics and disinfectants. The apartment had been converted into a makeshift clinic, with one room used for procedures and others for living.
All equipment was confiscated, and the apartment sealed in coordination with the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). Investigations revealed the facility lacked basic hygiene and sterilization standards, endangering patients with potential infections.
The Anti-Economic Crimes Department, in collaboration with DHA, led the operation. Officials warned that such illegal medical activities threaten public safety and damage Dubai’s healthcare credibility.
Dubai Police urged residents to seek treatment only from DHA-approved medical facilities, verify practitioners’ licenses, and avoid unsafe home-based or salon procedures. They also cautioned against deceptive social media ads offering cheap medical treatments and encouraged the public to report suspicious activities via the Police Eye app, call center (901), or Dubai Police app.
