An Old Man from Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, died only a day after remarrying, leaving behind shock, grief, and unanswered questions in his village.
The man, identified as 75-year-old Sangruram from Kuchhmuchh village, had been living alone since his wife’s death a year ago. Facing loneliness, the Old Man decided to remarry despite opposition from his family. On September 29, he married 35-year-old Manbhavati, a mother of three from her previous marriage.
The couple first registered their marriage in court and then performed a simple temple ceremony with traditional rituals. Villagers said the Old Man had often spoken about wanting companionship and emotional support in his final years.
Sadly, the marriage turned tragic within hours. By the morning after the wedding, Sangruram’s health suddenly worsened. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
His new wife, Manbhavati, told locals that the newlyweds had spent most of their wedding night talking. She said her husband promised that she would only need to look after the household, while he would support her children.
The unexpected death shocked relatives and neighbors. Some family members expressed doubts about the circumstances, though no evidence of foul play has been confirmed so far. Police have not started a formal investigation but are expected to act if a complaint is filed.
For many in the village, what was supposed to be a hopeful new beginning for the Old Man has instead become a tragic story. His sudden death has left the community grieving and speculating, with the true cause still uncertain.
This incident highlights the fragile nature of life and the search for companionship, even in one’s later years.
