Islamabad Shuts Down Seven Illegal Sheesha Cafés in Citywide Operation

The Islamabad district administration carried out a large-scale crackdown late last night on illegal indoor sheesha cafés, sealing seven outlets, imposing heavy fines, and arresting six people.

An ICT administration spokesperson stated that indoor sheesha cafés are banned under Islamabad High Court orders, and any violators will face strict legal consequences.

Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon directed assistant commissioners to take immediate action in their areas and warned that officials neglecting these orders would be held accountable.

“No indoor sheesha café will be allowed to run. Anyone found during raids — including customers — will face legal action,” DC Memon said.

Officials noted the operation aims to enforce court directives and protect public health. Citizens have been urged to report illegal sheesha activity, with assurances that violators will be penalized without exception.

The campaign will continue across Islamabad with surprise inspections and on-the-spot action. Authorities stressed that no leniency will be given to owners or visitors and reminded the public to avoid such cafés to prevent arrest or legal trouble.
