Murree Enforces a Three-Month Ban on Construction

To protect the environment and implement the Murree Master Plan, the district administration has enforced a three-month ban on all construction under Section 144, following orders from the Punjab Home Secretary.

The notification states that for 90 days, no houses, shops, markets, plazas, factories, roads, or alleys can be built in Murree.

Stone crushing, drilling, mining, and mountain cutting are also prohibited, along with the transport and supply of materials such as sand, gravel, steel, bricks, blocks, and related machinery. Any violation will result in criminal charges and arrests.

Officials say the decision aims to safeguard forests, encourage eco-friendly measures, and maintain a peaceful environment. The ban takes effect immediately and will remain for three months or until the Murree Master Plan is fully enforced.
