Trump To Speak To Top Generals At Rare Gathering In Quantico

President Donald Trump will attend a rare gathering of US generals and admirals in Quantico, Virginia, on Tuesday. The event brings together top military leaders from across the world in one location.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has summoned two-, three-, and four-star generals and admirals to Marine Corps University for the meeting. Such gatherings are uncommon, making this event highly significant.

Military commanders stationed in South Korea, Japan, and the Middle East are expected to join. Officials estimate that costs for transport and security could run into millions of dollars.

Speaking ahead of the gathering, Trump told Reuters that he wants to honor America’s senior military leaders. “I want to tell the generals that we love them, they’re cherished leaders, to be strong, be tough, be smart and be compassionate,” he said.

He described the event as a moment of “esprit de corps,” adding, “It’s about time somebody did that.”

While Trump’s presence will attract headlines, Defense Secretary Hegseth is also expected to deliver remarks. His speech will focus on the need for a “warrior ethos” in the military.

Hegseth, a former television host, has moved quickly to reshape the Pentagon since taking charge. He has removed senior generals and voiced criticism of diversity programs, which he calls discriminatory.

Earlier this month, Trump signed an executive order renaming the Department of Defense back to the Department of War. The title was last used during World War II. The symbolic change highlights his administration’s focus on military strength and readiness.

The Quantico event underlines both the symbolic and strategic priorities of the Trump administration. By addressing top generals directly, Trump aims to stress unity, toughness, and preparedness within the armed forces.
