Pakistan’s veteran tennis players delivered an impressive performance at the ITF Masters World Championship in Lisbon, Portugal.
The Pakistani players secured four medals across different events. The medal haul included one gold, two silver medals and one bronze.
Aisam-ul-Haq led Pakistan’s campaign by winning the mixed doubles world title with Austria’s Nina Hermann.
The Pakistani-Austrian pair successfully defended their championship crown for the second consecutive time. They defeated Portugal’s top-seeded pair in the final.
Aisam and Hermann won the final 4-6, 3-6 to secure another major international Masters title. The victory added to Aisam’s achievements on the global tennis stage.
Pakistan also secured a silver medal in the men’s 45-plus doubles event. Aisam-ul-Haq partnered with fellow Pakistani tennis star Aqeel Khan in the competition.
The pair produced a strong performance throughout the event before finishing as runners-up. Their result added another medal to Pakistan’s overall tally.
