Trump Plans $6.4Bn In Weapons Sales To Israel, Say Sources

The Trump administration is seeking Congressional approval for a $6.4 billion arms sale to Israel. The package includes advanced attack helicopters, troop carriers, and support equipment, sources said.

The deal would provide Israel with 30 AH-64 Apache attack helicopters valued at $3.8 billion. An additional $1.9 billion is allocated for 3,250 infantry assault vehicles for ground operations. Another $750 million is reserved for spare parts for armored personnel carriers and power supplies.

This deal is among the largest U.S. military support packages to Israel in recent years. It comes as Israel intensifies military operations in Gaza City, targeting Hamas infrastructure. The escalation has worsened the humanitarian crisis for displaced Palestinians.

The announcement coincides with preparations for the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where world leaders will discuss the escalating Gaza conflict. The UN Security Council is also scheduled to hold a high-level meeting to address the situation.

Sources said the potential helicopter and vehicle sales were first reported by The Wall Street Journal. The White House has not yet provided an official comment.

President Trump’s unwavering support for Israel contrasts with growing skepticism among U.S. Democrats. On Thursday, a group of senators introduced a resolution urging recognition of a Palestinian state.

More than half of Senate Democrats recently voted against additional arms sales to Israel, citing concerns over civilian casualties in Gaza. Analysts say this reflects increasing political scrutiny of U.S. military aid.

The Trump-backed arms sale highlights continued U.S. support for Israel’s defense while showing tensions in Congress over humanitarian and diplomatic considerations.

This decision reinforces Trump’s longstanding policy of backing Israel, emphasizing U.S. military cooperation in the Middle East amid ongoing regional conflicts.
