The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been granted a seven-day physical remand of Engineer Muhammad Ali Mirza in connection with a blasphemy case involving alleged remarks about sacred personalities.
As per details, Senior Civil Judge Waqar Hussain Gondal approved the FIA’s request after Mirza was produced before the court in Rawalpindi under strict security arrangements. The agency argued that custody was necessary to continue its investigation and gather further evidence.
The court instructed the FIA to complete the probe within the given time and present Mirza before the court again on September 19.
Following the proceedings, the accused was taken back into FIA custody. The case has drawn significant attention due to Mirza’s public profile as a religious scholar and YouTuber, with supporters and critics closely monitoring developments. Authorities have emphasized that the investigation will proceed in accordance with legal requirements.
