PKR Extends 217-Day Winning Streak Against US Dollar

The Pakistani rupee (PKR) continued its strong performance against the US dollar on Tuesday.

The PKR closed at 277.67 against the US dollar during the latest trading session. It gained three paisas compared with the previous session.

The latest gain extended the rupee’s positive streak to 217 consecutive days. The currency has recorded consistent gains against the dollar since December 25, 2025.

The continued improvement highlights the recent stability of the Pakistani currency. However, daily exchange rates can still change based on market conditions.

PKR Performance Against Major Currencies

The Pakistani rupee remained almost unchanged against the UAE dirham. The AED closed at 75.6062, showing only a minimal movement.

The PKR also gained one paisa against the Saudi riyal. The SAR closed at 73.9511 during the latest session.

The rupee recorded a stronger gain against the British pound. It improved by around nine paisas against the GBP.

The British pound closed at 374.8704. The previous reported rate was 374.9670.

The PKR also gained around 91 paisas against the euro. The EUR closed at 320.2385 during Tuesday’s trading.

The euro had previously closed at 321.1484. This resulted in a notable improvement for the Pakistani currency.

The PKR also strengthened against the Australian dollar. It gained 66 paisas against the AUD during the session.

The Australian dollar closed at 195.7723. It had previously been recorded at 196.4324.

The rupee also gained eight paisas against the Canadian dollar. The CAD closed at 199.1904 in the latest session.

Other Currency Movements

The Pakistani currency recorded smaller changes against several other currencies.

The Malaysian ringgit closed at 67.8489. The PKR gained around seven paisas against the MYR.

The Chinese yuan closed at 41.1575. The movement against the yuan remained relatively limited.

The rupee also maintained its overall stability against the UAE dirham. The AED recorded almost no change during the session.

The latest currency data shows mixed movements across international currencies. The PKR recorded gains against several major currencies.

The most notable improvements came against the euro and Australian dollar. The rupee also strengthened against the British pound and Canadian dollar.

Rupee Maintains Dollar Gains

The PKR has continued its upward movement against the US dollar since December 2025. Tuesday’s performance extended this trend to 217 consecutive sessions.

The dollar closed at 277.6715 based on the latest exchange rate data. It previously stood at 277.7019.

This represents a gain of about three paisas for the rupee.

Exchange rates can affect import costs, overseas payments, and international trade. They can also influence businesses and consumers dealing with foreign currencies.

The latest figures show that the rupee remained broadly stable against major currencies. Its continued gains against the dollar remain the main development in the currency market.
