The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police have stationed the Elite Force at Babusar Top and other upper areas of Kaghan Valley to enhance security for tourists and travelers, officials confirmed on Thursday.
District Police Officer Shafiullah Khan Gandapur said the decision came after a recent attack on a police patrol van that left two personnel injured. He noted that a search and strike operation is currently underway on both the KP and Gilgit-Baltistan sides of the valley.
According to the DPO, the Elite Force—armed with modern weapons—has now been deployed in Babusar Top and nearby areas to ensure passenger and tourist safety between the two regions.
He added that police have already introduced a nighttime convoy system, and the presence of the Elite Force will further strengthen patrols and security measures.
Meanwhile, the district administration has prohibited the carrying and display of weapons. Police have also been tasked with ensuring strict security during Eid Miladun Nabi processions across the district.
