After an extended closure due to heavy rains and flooding, schools across Lahore are set to reopen on September 1. The decision comes as part of the district administration’s efforts to restore normal academic activities following weeks of disruption.

According to a notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner, all public and private schools will resume classes on the given date. However, exceptions have been made for institutions located in flood-affected areas or those being used as temporary relief camps for displaced families. These schools will remain closed until further instructions are issued by the authorities.

Parents and students have been advised to remain in close contact with their respective school administrations for the latest updates regarding schedules and reopening status. Officials also stressed that schools must comply with safety protocols and operational guidelines outlined by the Education Department to ensure a smooth transition back to academic activities.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall continued in several parts of Lahore and adjoining districts, raising fresh concerns of urban flooding and waterlogging in low-lying neighborhoods. The Meteorological Department has warned of more showers over the next 24 hours, urging residents to exercise caution as recovery and repair efforts continue in flood-hit areas.
