The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has summoned YouTubers and social media influencers for allegedly promoting unlicensed online trading and gambling apps linked to massive financial scams.
According to official records, Mudassar Hassan, Muhammad Anas Ali, Iqra Kanwal, and Muhammad Husnain Shah have been directed to appear at the NCCIA Lahore office on September 2, 2025, as part of the probe.
The accused are suspected of glamorizing illegal betting platforms on social media, persuading youth to invest in unregulated schemes, and orchestrating a coordinated effort to defraud the public. The agency warned that non-compliance with the summons would be treated as an admission of guilt or waiver of defense.
Investigations revealed that the betting app “World 777” has been financing influencer-led campaigns to attract thousands of Pakistanis, particularly young people, into high-risk gambling. Prominent names allegedly tied to its promotion include Mathira, Nadir Ali, Aimen Zaman, Varda Malik, Javeria Aurangzeb, Abeera Khan, Faryal Fairy, and Nauman Kazmi.
Officials estimate that billions of rupees are leaving Pakistan each month through these platforms, fueling addiction, financial distress, and a parallel shadow economy that threatens national financial stability.
