Petrol Price In Pakistan May Rise From September 1, 2025

Global crude oil prices have steadily risen over the past two weeks, signaling a possible increase in Pakistan’s petrol price soon. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will conduct its next price review on August 31, 2025.

British Brent crude oil prices climbed by $1.60 per barrel in 13 days, reaching $67.47. Meanwhile, American crude oil rose by $1.64 per barrel, currently trading at $63.62. This upward trend in international markets is expected to impact local fuel prices.

The government last revised the petrol price on August 16. At that time, super petrol was priced at Rs264.61 per litre. Diesel prices were also increased to Rs272.99 per litre. These changes were due to higher import costs and fluctuations in the Pakistani rupee.

OGRA will soon send its price recommendation to the government, which will decide whether to adjust the petrol price accordingly. Any rise in global oil prices usually leads to a hike in local fuel rates.

Consumers are advised to prepare for a potential increase in petrol price starting September 1, 2025. The government monitors global oil trends closely to balance fuel costs with economic conditions.

In summary, the recent surge in international crude oil prices is likely to push Pakistan’s petrol price higher. The final decision will come after OGRA’s review at the end of August.
