PPP Rejects Proposal For Creation Of New Province In Country

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has firmly rejected the idea of creating a new province in the country. This statement came from Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, who emphasized that the party remains committed to protecting Sindh’s territorial integrity.

Speaking to the media in Karachi, Memon assured that the PPP would not support any move to divide Sindh or form a new province as long as the party holds even one seat in the provincial assembly. He highlighted the importance of unity and stability in the region, especially during the current flood crisis affecting Punjab and other provinces.

Memon also expressed Sindh’s willingness to assist Punjab in managing the ongoing flood situation. He said Sindh has faced severe rains and floods before and is prepared to provide support where needed. Despite the challenges, he praised the efforts of the Punjab government and promised not to criticize them during this difficult time.

Regarding provincial governance, Memon clarified that any changes in Sindh’s cabinet are the sole decision of the Chief Minister. He also confirmed that the Chief Minister will continue to represent Sindh’s interests during discussions on the National Finance Commission (NFC) award, which is crucial for provincial funding and development.

The PPP’s firm stance on the new province issue reflects its commitment to Sindh’s unity and development. The party continues to prioritize disaster relief efforts and inter-provincial cooperation amid natural calamities.

In summary, the PPP rejects any plans for a new province in Sindh. The party is focused on supporting flood relief efforts and maintaining political stability in the region. This approach aims to ensure peace and progress for Sindh and Pakistan as a whole.
