Sialkot Shuts Schools After Record-Breaking Rainfall Sparks Flood Concerns

Torrential rains inundated parts of Sialkot, including Rangpura, Allama Iqbal Chowk, Dara Araiyan, and Prem Nagar, with more showers expected in the coming days.

Flash floods in Dekh Nullah submerged several villages, prompting rescue teams to relocate residents to safer areas.

Amid worsening conditions, Deputy Commissioner Sialkot Saba Asghar Ali announced a local holiday for all educational institutions due to the rainfall emergency and looming flood risk.

She urged citizens to remain indoors, avoid unnecessary travel, and stay clear of rivers and streams. Section 144 has been enforced, with strict action warned against violations.
