Saeed Ghani’s Brother Farhan Held In Custody Till August 28 In Torture Case

Saeed Ghani’s brother, Farhan Ghani, has been remanded in police custody until August 28. This decision was made by the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Karachi. The court ordered a physical remand in a case involving alleged violence against government employees.

The case revolves around accusations that Farhan Ghani and others assaulted workers under official supervision. During the hearing, the court asked the prosecution to clarify which government department the employees belonged to. The prosecutor could not provide a clear answer.

The court also questioned why the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) was applied in this case. The prosecutor argued that violence against government officials justified the use of terrorism-related charges. A 14-day remand was requested for further investigation.

Saeed Ghani’s brother, Farhan, denied all the allegations. He told the court that the accusations were false and politically motivated. Farhan said he only stopped to ask workers about their activities and reminded them about unauthorized road digging in his town. He emphasized that he did not commit any violence.

After the case was registered, Saeed Ghani’s brother and his associates surrendered voluntarily at the Firozabad police station. The court first granted a one-day transit remand and later extended custody until August 28.

Saeed Ghani, a provincial minister, confirmed his brother’s arrest on social media. He said Farhan and the others are cooperating with the police. Saeed also mentioned that they will prove their innocence in court.

The dispute began after a fight between Saeed Ghani’s brother and a man named Sohail. Sohail filed the case following the altercation. Saeed Ghani said all accused individuals have presented themselves to authorities and are ready to face the law.

The case continues to develop as investigations proceed under court supervision.
