Karachi Traffic Police Advisory Issued for Independence Day Event

KARACHI – The Karachi traffic police have released a detailed traffic and parking plan for the Independence Day celebrations at the National Stadium. The event will also commemorate “Marka-e-Haq” with a musical night.

According to officials, only vehicles with special event stickers will be allowed entry through Gate No. 1 and Gate No. 11 of the stadium. Attendees can park at the Expo Centre or China Ground, where shuttle services will be available to transport them to the venue.

Authorities have warned of expected heavy traffic on National Stadium Road and Sir Shah Suleman Road. Citizens are advised to use alternate routes to avoid delays. Buses, minibuses, and other commercial vehicles will be diverted, while heavy traffic will be barred from entering the surrounding area.

The Karachi traffic police advisory also requests citizens to avoid parking cars or motorcycles on service roads. This measure is intended to keep traffic flowing smoothly during the celebrations. Cooperation with law enforcement agencies has been urged to ensure public safety and avoid congestion.

The event is part of the national celebrations for Independence Day, as well as a tribute to the “Marka-e-Haq” operation. This four-day military engagement took place from May 7 to May 10, 2025, between Pakistan and India. It followed airstrikes by India that, according to Pakistan’s ISPR, targeted civilians and resulted in multiple casualties.

In response, Pakistan launched Operation Bunyanum Marsoos under the banner of Marka-e-Haq to counter the attacks, defend sovereignty, and restore strategic balance. The campaign is remembered as a display of unity and resilience by the Pakistan Armed Forces.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared May 10 to be observed annually as Marka-e-Haq Day. This year’s Independence Day celebrations at the National Stadium will therefore carry both patriotic and commemorative significance.
