Over 367,000 Applications Received For Punjab’s Apni Zameen Apna Ghar Scheme

Punjab has received more than 367,000 applications for the popular Apna Ghar Scheme, officials confirmed. This housing initiative aims to help low- and middle-income families own land and homes across 19 districts.

The Apna Ghar Scheme is designed to provide free plots to deserving families. Applications are currently being screened, and the plots will be allocated through a fair balloting process.

Punjab’s Chief Minister will distribute plots to 2,000 families in the scheme’s first phase. Punjab Housing Minister Bilal Yasin said the scheme also offers interest-free loans up to Rs 1.5 million through the related ‘Apni Chhat Apna Ghar’ program.

The distribution includes 730 plots in Jhelum, 388 in Kasur, 257 in Faisalabad, 218 in Lodhran, and 130 in Okara. Other districts such as Layyah, Bhakkar, Sahiwal, and Sargodha will also receive significant allocations.

Smaller allocations will be made in districts like Bahawalnagar, Rajanpur, Mandi Bahauddin, Attock, Gujrat, and Bahawalpur. The scheme aims to support homeless and vulnerable families across the province.

The Apna Ghar Scheme is part of Punjab’s ongoing effort to address housing shortages and promote affordable homeownership. The government hopes to ease the housing burden for many families through this program.

Authorities urge applicants to stay updated for further announcements on plot distribution and loan details. The screening and balloting process will continue to ensure transparency and fairness.

The Apna Ghar Scheme represents a significant step toward improving living standards in Punjab by providing land ownership opportunities to many deserving citizens.
