Aleema Khan, sister of former Prime Minister and PTI founder Imran Khan, has confirmed that his sons, Suleiman and Qasim, have begun the process of traveling to Pakistan.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Aleema revealed that both Suleiman and Qasim submitted their visa applications to the Pakistan High Commission in London a few days ago. She mentioned that the applications are currently awaiting clearance from Pakistan’s Ministry of Interior.
“Suleiman and Qasim submitted their visa applications to the Pakistan High Commission in London a few days ago. The ambassador has informed us that they are waiting for approval from the Ministry of Interior in Islamabad,” she stated.
It’s notable that the two brothers, aged 28 and 26, publicly commented for the first time in May regarding their father’s imprisonment.
Earlier this month, Aleema shared that the brothers intend to visit the U.S. before arriving in Pakistan as part of efforts to raise awareness for Imran Khan’s release.
Their visa request comes at a time when Imran Khan’s legal challenges have intensified. Behind bars since August 2023, he has been convicted in multiple cases, including the Toshakhana and cipher cases. His legal team and family have consistently raised concerns over alleged human rights violations and lack of fair trial.
In recent months, Aleema Khan has become increasingly outspoken, frequently criticizing the government for targeting Imran Khan and undermining democratic norms in Pakistan.
