Cloudburst In Naran Temporarily Closes Road To Lake Saif-Ul-Malook

A sudden cloudburst in Naran, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, caused a temporary blockage on the road leading to Lake Saif-ul-Malook. This unexpected downpour stranded hundreds of tourists in the area.

Local authorities acted quickly to manage the situation. Rescue teams, along with the Kaghan Development Authority and Tourism Police, coordinated efforts to clear the blocked route. Over 500 visitors were safely evacuated from the affected area.

The cloudburst caused debris and heavy water flow that made the road impassable. However, emergency crews used heavy machinery to remove obstacles and restore access. More than 117 jeeps carrying tourists were able to continue their journeys once the road was cleared.

Dr. Abdul Samad, Secretary of Tourism for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, confirmed the provincial tourism department’s active role in ensuring visitor safety. He urged tourists to use the tourism helpline 1422 for immediate assistance during emergencies.

The swift response to the cloudburst helped minimize damage and prevent any serious injuries. Authorities remain vigilant and continue monitoring weather conditions in the region to avoid future incidents.

Tourism officials emphasized the importance of preparedness in areas prone to sudden weather changes. Visitors are advised to stay informed about weather updates and follow official safety instructions.

This cloudburst serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by mountainous tourist destinations during the rainy season. Despite these risks, local authorities’ quick actions have ensured the safety of tourists and kept the popular route open.

Tourists planning to visit Naran and Lake Saif-ul-Malook are encouraged to remain cautious and prepared for sudden weather changes, especially during the monsoon season.
