Abdul Basit, the son of Balochistan Assembly member Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman, has gone missing in Karachi, sparking concern among family and officials. Basit, a student at a religious seminary in the Saudabad area of Malir, has not been seen since Tuesday evening.
According to family members, he was en route to his uncle’s residence in Manghopir but never arrived and has not returned to the seminary. His disappearance has raised fears of a possible abduction, although authorities have not confirmed any such development.

Police officials stated that while a formal missing person report has not yet been registered, they are closely coordinating with the family and actively assisting in locating the boy.
Taking immediate notice, Sindh Chief Minister has sought a comprehensive report from the Inspector General of Sindh regarding the incident. The situation remains under investigation.
