US President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, over a lunch meeting on Wednesday.
According to media reports citing White House officials, the meeting will focus on regional security and bilateral cooperation, especially amid escalating tensions with India despite the ongoing ceasefire. The interaction is seen as a key diplomatic engagement during Munir’s official visit to Washington.

Field Marshal Munir has also met with the overseas Pakistani community during his trip, where he was warmly welcomed. He acknowledged their contributions to Pakistan’s economy and praised their role as ambassadors of the country abroad.
Highlighting the need for continued collaboration, COAS emphasized strengthening ties with the diaspora to tackle mutual challenges. His meeting with Trump gains added significance in light of recent regional tensions following India’s strikes on Pakistani cities, linked to the April 22 Pahalgam incident.
