Beijing, [Current Date] – China has accused former U.S. President Donald Trump of exacerbating tensions between Iran and Israel, likening his rhetoric to “pouring oil on the fire” amid a surge in hostilities between the two nations. The remarks came after Trump issued a stark warning on social media, urging residents of Tehran to “immediately evacuate.”

The recent escalation follows years of hostility and a shadow war, with Israel launching airstrikes against Iranian targets last week, claiming it aimed to thwart Tehran’s nuclear ambitions—a claim Iran denies. The flare-up has raised global concerns over a broader regional conflict, particularly after Trump called for Iran to return to negotiations, despite Israel’s strikes disrupting ongoing nuclear talks.

In response to Trump’s comments, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun stated, “Fanning the flames, making threats, and applying pressure will not help de-escalate the situation but will only intensify and widen the conflict.” He urged influential nations to “shoulder their responsibilities” and take immediate steps to reduce tensions.

Meanwhile, China has advised its citizens in Iran and Israel to leave “as soon as possible” amid the worsening security situation. The Chinese Embassy in Tehran recommended exits via land borders with Turkey, Armenia, or Turkmenistan, while the embassy in Israel suggested evacuation routes toward Jordan.

“The conflict is continuing to escalate, damaging civilian infrastructure and increasing casualties,” the embassy in Israel warned in a WeChat post. “The security situation is becoming increasingly severe.”

The ongoing clashes mark one of the most direct confrontations between Iran and Israel in years, with international calls for restraint growing louder. China has positioned itself as a mediator, advocating for dialogue over military action.
