The Sindh cabinet on Friday approved salary increases for government employees as part of the upcoming 2025-26 budget. Employees from grades 1 to 16 will receive a 12% raise, while those in grades 17 to 22 will get a 10% increase, aiming to ease financial pressure amid ongoing inflation.
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, who also serves as the province’s finance minister, is set to present the full budget in the Sindh Assembly later today. The proposed Annual Development Program (ADP) has been raised from Rs493 billion to Rs503 billion.

Key allocations include Rs183 billion for new development schemes, Rs45 billion for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) fund for lawmakers, and Rs7 billion packages for each divisional headquarters. Education funding may rise from Rs32 billion to Rs38 billion, while the health sector’s budget is expected to increase from Rs18 billion to Rs21 billion.
