Islamabad – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in a series of diplomatic calls with world leaders on the occasion of Eidul Azha, reinforcing Pakistan’s commitment to regional stability, Muslim unity, and stronger bilateral partnerships.

In a conversation with Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, both leaders exchanged warm Eid greetings and emphasized enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, and cultural exchange. PM Shehbaz appreciated Malaysia’s balanced stance during the recent Pakistan-India tensions, stating, “Pakistan had no choice but to respond firmly to India’s aggression, yet we accepted a US-brokered ceasefire for regional peace.” He reiterated Pakistan’s willingness to engage in dialogue with India, including on the issue of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
During his call with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon, PM Shehbaz extended Eid wishes and thanked Tajikistan for advocating peace amid Pakistan-India tensions. President Rahmon praised Islamabad’s efforts for regional stability.

In a separate discussion with Qatar’s Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Prime Minister lauded Doha’s role in de-escalating recent hostilities. Both leaders pledged to expand economic collaboration, with a focus on trade and investment opportunities.

PM Shehbaz also connected with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, expressing gratitude for the hospitality during his recent visit to Lachin. The leaders vowed to strengthen ties, particularly at the upcoming ECO Summit in Azerbaijan and during President Aliyev’s scheduled visit to Islamabad.

Meanwhile, in his conversation with Kuwait’s Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister acknowledged Kuwait’s constructive role in promoting dialogue between Pakistan and India. Both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in trade and economic development, with the Crown Prince commending the contributions of the Pakistani diaspora in Kuwait.

These engagements follow PM Shehbaz’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia, where he and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman agreed to elevate the strategic partnership between the two nations. Additionally, his four-country diplomatic tour last week aimed at reinforcing alliances and thanking key partners for their support during regional tensions.
Pakistan remains steadfast in its pursuit of peace, dialogue, and stronger international ties under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership.
