Aleema Khan, Others Summoned by Cyber Crime Agency Over Alleged Anti-State Propaganda

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has summoned Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, along with three others over accusations of spreading anti-state propaganda on social media. The action comes amid rising scrutiny of digital content related to national security and state institutions.

According to the NCCIA, Aleema Khan, political activists Sanam Javed and Falak Javed, and television anchor Aftab Iqbal have been issued formal notices for allegedly disseminating content deemed harmful during the recent Pakistan-India conflict. Authorities claim the material was targeted at undermining public trust in state institutions.

The individuals have been directed to appear in person at the NCCIA’s Lahore office on June 5. The inquiry into their online activities began on May 27, as outlined in the notices served to them.

This development marks another chapter in the ongoing tensions between political activists and state agencies, particularly concerning the use of social media platforms for political expression.
