Major Gulf Nation Officially Resumes Issuance of Work Visas for Pakistanis
Kuwait Resumes Multiple Visa Categories for Pakistanis, Plans to Bring Nurses Amid Strengthened Ties

Kuwait has officially restarted issuing various visa types to Pakistani citizens, including work, family visit, dependent, tourist, and commercial visas, confirmed Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Zaffar Iqbal. This significant move aims to restore workforce channels and enhance economic cooperation between the two nations.

Since May, Pakistani nationals have started receiving visa approvals, signaling a renewed commitment to bilateral relations. Dr. Iqbal also announced plans to recruit 1,200 Pakistani nurses for Kuwait’s healthcare sector. Although the initial group of 125 nurses faced housing delays, solutions are in progress, with arrivals expected soon.

Additionally, Pakistan and Kuwait are close to signing a new labor Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), with some terms already being implemented.

Ambassador Dr. Iqbal highlighted the presence of over 93,000 Pakistanis living in Kuwait, who contribute significantly to healthcare, education, and infrastructure. He noted ongoing Kuwaiti investments in Pakistan and potential opportunities in agriculture, food security, and housing sectors.

Praising Kuwait’s diplomatic support, Dr. Iqbal recalled Pakistan’s military aid during the Gulf War and Kuwait’s backing of Pakistan’s recent UN Security Council bid, underlining a relationship rooted in shared history and mutual respect.
