The action led to the removal of one sub-inspector, four assistant sub-inspectors (ASIs), four head constables, and eight constables. Among those dismissed is former Station House Officer (SHO) Sub-Inspector Anwarul Haq.

Other dismissed ASIs include Imran Khalid, Umar, Nadeem, and Shakoor, while head constables Zarif, Anis, and Naseer were also terminated. Constables Sami and Imtiaz were among the eight constables dismissed from the force.

Speaking to the media, CPO Khalid Hamdani emphasized that the crackdown was part of the Punjab Police Department’s accountability framework and aligned with directives from the Punjab Chief Minister to eliminate the drug menace from society.

“Any police personnel found colluding with drug dealers will face strict legal consequences,” the CPO declared. “This is part of our commitment to uphold integrity and protect public trust.”

He added that the public has largely welcomed the police department’s intensified measures against narcotics. The CPO also revealed that more than 500 drug dealers in Rawalpindi are currently serving sentences ranging from 10 to 20 years following court convictions.

This latest action marks a significant step in purging the police force of corrupt elements and enhancing its credibility in the fight against drug trafficking.
