Indian Diplomat Expelled by Pakistan Over Misconduct Allegations

Pakistan has declared an Indian High Commission staffer persona non grata and ordered him to leave the country within 24 hours, citing involvement in activities incompatible with diplomatic norms. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) stated that the individual’s actions violated the privileges accorded under the Vienna Convention.

The Indian Charge d’Affaires was summoned to the Foreign Office in Islamabad where the decision was formally conveyed. MOFA emphasized that diplomatic personnel are expected to adhere strictly to the codes of conduct governing their presence in the host country.

“This move reflects Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining the sanctity of diplomatic practices and ensuring that no official abuses their status,” said a MOFA spokesperson. While specific details of the alleged misconduct were not disclosed, the ministry underscored that such actions will not be tolerated.

The development adds to already tense bilateral relations between Islamabad and New Delhi, with diplomatic incidents of this nature often escalating political friction. Indian authorities have yet to issue a formal response.
