Naanbai Association Warns of Possible Bread Price Hike Amid Flour Cost Surge
The Naanbai Association has issued a warning about a potential increase in the prices of bread, naan, and paratha following a recent rise in flour prices. The cost of flour sacks—including fine white flour—has surged by Rs300 to Rs500 in both wholesale and retail markets.

Shafiq Abbasi, central president of the Naanbai Association, highlighted that the price of a 79kg sack of red flour has risen from Rs5,250 to Rs5,750. Including transport and handling, the total cost to tandoors has reached Rs5,850. Similarly, the price of fine white flour has increased from Rs6,400 to Rs6,700 per sack.
If flour prices do not decrease soon, the association warns that the prices of staple bakery items will be raised as early as next week. In light of this, a Price Control Committee meeting has been scheduled to assess the situation.
