Indian Army Denies Drone Infiltration Claims, Calls Border Situation ‘Peaceful’
NEW DELHI/ISLAMABAD – The Indian Army has officially denied reports of any drone incursion from Pakistan, refuting claims circulated by several Indian media outlets, including high-profile journalists such as Barkha Dutt. The clarification comes amid heightened tensions following the recent military standoff between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.
“The situation on the border remains peaceful and under control,” the Indian Army said in a brief but firm statement, debunking allegations of cross-border drone activity.

Pakistani Officials Reject ‘Fabricated’ Allegations
On the other side, security sources in Pakistan also dismissed the Indian reports, calling them “fabricated and misleading.” The officials reiterated that no Pakistani drone had crossed the international border or the Line of Control (LoC).
“Once again, Indian media has become a breeding ground for lies. These false claims serve no purpose other than stoking tensions and spreading propaganda,” the Pakistani security sources stated.
Ceasefire Commitment Stressed by Pakistan
Pakistani authorities further emphasized that Islamabad continues to honor the ceasefire agreement, showing restraint despite multiple violations by Indian drones along the LoC and Working Boundary.
“Contrary to their narrative, it is Indian drones that are frequently violating the ceasefire, not the other way around,” a Pakistani official noted, accusing New Delhi of misinformation and deflection tactics.
Media Misinformation Under Fire
The controversy underscores a growing concern over media accountability in times of conflict, especially when unverified claims escalate bilateral tensions. The Indian Army’s rare clarification signals a move to curb disinformation before it spirals further.
Analysts warn that unchecked media narratives could sabotage ongoing diplomatic backchannels and undermine fragile ceasefire agreements.
