Pakistan is observing Youm-e-Tashakkur – the Day of Gratitude – to commemorate the success of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, launched in retaliation to what authorities called unprovoked Indian aggression.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the observance, commending the armed forces for their swift and strategic response. The day is being celebrated across the country as a symbol of national unity and pride in the military’s role in defending Pakistan’s sovereignty.

The operation was launched amid rising cross-border tensions along the Line of Control, raising fears of a full-scale conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. As casualties mounted, Islamabad and New Delhi agreed to a ceasefire, which was welcomed both domestically and internationally.

Citizens, especially those near the border, expressed relief and hope that the ceasefire would bring lasting peace to the region. Celebrations took place nationwide, with tributes to the military and prayers for continued peace.

The government reiterated its dedication to regional peace while upholding the nation’s right to self-defense. Youm-e-Tashakkur stands as both a tribute to military strength and a reaffirmation of Pakistan’s commitment to peace, unity, and vigilance.
