World’s Oldest Living Woman Passes Away at Age 116

World’s Oldest Woman, Ana Cabanero Lucas, Passes Away at 116 in Brazil

BRAZILAna Cabanero Lucas, officially recognized by Guinness World Records as the world’s oldest living woman, has passed away at the age of 116, according to international media reports.

Born in June 1908, Lucas lived a life devoted to spirituality and service as a Catholic nun, spending most of her years in quiet reflection and community care. She earned the title of world’s oldest woman in January 2025, following the death of Tomiko Itoka of Japan, who was also 116 when she passed away.
