ISLAMABAD – Amid rising tensions following the Pahalgam incident, the Pakistan Army continues to conduct high-intensity military exercises, demonstrating combat strategies and modern weaponry, according to security sources. The drills are a clear show of strength, showcasing the army’s preparedness and commitment to respond decisively to any aggression.

The exercises are taking place across strategically important areas, and Pakistan’s military personnel are fully engaged, highlighting their readiness to protect the nation. Security sources have confirmed that the Army remains vigilant and fully prepared to deliver a crushing response to any hostile moves by the enemy.

In a statement, senior military officials affirmed, “Pakistan’s armed forces are prepared for any eventuality.” They emphasized the unwavering dedication of Pakistan’s soldiers, who are always ready to make the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the country’s sovereignty.

The exercises are seen as a direct response to growing security challenges in the region, especially with the escalation of tensions along the Line of Control (LoC). Pakistan’s military continues to stress its defensive posture, reaffirming its resolve to ensure the nation’s security in the face of potential threats.

Diplomatic Reactions

Earlier, a joint press conference was held by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad. The press conference was called in response to what Pakistan termed as “unprovoked Indian firing” along the LoC, a significant escalation that has intensified tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

Foreign Minister Dar condemned India’s provocative actions following the Pahalgam attack, emphasizing that such maneuvers threaten regional stability. He reiterated that while Pakistan would never initiate conflict, it would respond forcefully if provoked. He also expressed condolences over the Pahalgam attack, acknowledging Pakistan’s own painful history with terrorism.

Rejecting Indian Accusations

Dar strongly rejected India’s allegations that Pakistan was involved in the Pahalgam attack. He called these accusations part of a recurring strategy by India to deflect attention from its internal issues, particularly the situation in Kashmir. Dar criticized India’s use of fabricated security threats as a cover to obscure its human rights violations in Indian-Occupied Kashmir and the oppression faced by the Kashmiri people.

Military Doubts Over India’s Narrative

Lt Gen Chaudhry raised doubts about the feasibility of linking the attack to Pakistan, pointing out inconsistencies in India’s narrative and highlighting the geographical challenges of such a claim. He stressed that the location of the attack made it highly unlikely that Pakistan was involved, adding weight to the doubts about India’s accusations.

The ISPR Director General further accused India of using terrorism to further its political objectives, drawing comparisons to the 2019 Pulwama attack, where India had similarly accused Pakistan without credible evidence. He also mentioned that Pakistan had gathered intelligence suggesting India was continuing to incite violence through its proxies within Pakistan.

Indus Waters Treaty Dispute

The Foreign Minister also condemned India’s unilateral suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, calling it a violation of international law. Dar demanded an independent and transparent investigation into the Pahalgam attack and questioned India’s motivations behind the allegations.

As the situation continues to escalate, both countries remain on edge, with military drills and diplomatic statements reflecting the heightened tensions between them.
