Forensic examinations of 14 out of 15 Palestinian rescue workers killed by Israeli forces in southern Gaza have revealed fatal gunshot wounds and blast injuries, according to Dr. Ahmed Dhair, the pathologist overseeing the postmortems. The victims — including Red Crescent, civil defence, and UN agency staff — were reportedly unarmed and engaged in a humanitarian operation.
Dhair noted signs of “explosive bullets,” with some bodies showing bullets that detonated internally. Footage and UN reports suggest the workers may have been summarily executed and later buried in a mass grave by Israeli troops.

The Israel Defense Forces acknowledged the strike but offered shifting explanations. They allege, without evidence, that six workers were linked to Hamas — a claim strongly denied by the Red Crescent.
Human rights groups and aid organisations condemned the killings as potential war crimes. Médecins Sans Frontières and others say the situation in Gaza is catastrophic, with more than 51,000 Palestinians dead since October 2023.
The incident is reportedly under internal investigation by Israeli authorities, though international pressure for accountability continues to mount.
