Tesla is recalling nearly all Cybertrucks sold in the U.S. to fix an exterior stainless-steel panel that may detach while driving. The recall affects over 46,000 vehicles built between November 2023 and February 2025, marking the eighth recall for the Cybertruck since January 2024.
According to Tesla, the issue could create a potential road hazard if the panel comes loose or breaks off. The company acknowledged 151 warranty claims related to the problem but reported no accidents or injuries. The repair will involve replacing the panel assembly with a more durable version.

Despite the recall, CEO Elon Musk did not address the issue during a late-night Tesla meeting but praised the Cybertruck’s “five-star safety rating” from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
This recall adds to a growing list of challenges for Tesla, which has seen a decline in Cybertruck demand and increasing competition in the EV market.
