Massive Cash Prize Revealed for Club World Cup

FIFA is set to announce over $1 billion in prize money for the upcoming Club World Cup, which will feature 32 teams—including top Premier League clubs like Chelsea and Manchester City—in what is expected to be the largest prize pool in club football history. The tournament, financed in part by a $1 billion exclusive global TV deal with DAZN, will follow a seven-match format. Scheduled to kick off in the United States on June 14 with the final in New Jersey on July 13, the event will provide each club a participation fee for the group stage along with performance bonuses as they progress.

While detailed revenue splits have yet to be confirmed, European clubs are anticipated to receive a larger share due to their significant role in the competition. Notable European clubs represented by the ECA include Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, Inter Milan, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Benfica, Porto, and FC Salzburg, though Real Madrid is not part of the ECA due to its support for the European Super League.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino underscored the global scope of the tournament, stating, “Whatever FIFA does, it has to be global. It has to involve the globe and give opportunities to everyone all over the world, and the Club World Cup is doing exactly that.”
