Indian National Shot Dead by Jordanian Soldiers While Attempting to Enter Israel

Thomas Gabriel Perera, an Indian national from Thumba, Kerala, was reportedly shot dead by Jordanian soldiers while attempting to cross into Israel illegally. The Indian Embassy in Jordan has confirmed the incident and is in contact with Perera’s family, coordinating with Jordanian authorities for the repatriation of his remains.

Perera, 47, had entered Jordan on a visitor visa before attempting the unauthorized crossing. His relative, Edison, who was also involved in the attempt, survived despite being shot. After receiving medical treatment, Edison was repatriated to India.

This tragic incident occurs amid rising tensions in the region, with increased violence in the West Bank and the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.
