Samsung Unveils Budget-Friendly M06 and M16 Entry-Level Smartphones

Samsung has unveiled two new mid-range smartphones in India under its M-series lineup: the Galaxy M06 5G and the Galaxy M16 5G. Although these models are essentially rebranded versions of the Galaxy A16 5G and Galaxy F06 5G, they feature subtle design enhancements while maintaining the same core specifications, catering to users seeking affordable 5G devices with long-term software support.

The Galaxy M16 5G boasts a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate, along with a refreshed design that includes a unified camera island—setting it apart from previous models with separate camera rings. In contrast, the Galaxy M06 5G offers a similar-sized LCD display aimed at budget-conscious consumers. The M16 is available in Thunder Black, Mint Green, and Blush Pink, while the M06 comes in Sage Green and Blazing Black.

Both models are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset. The M16 runs One UI 7 based on Android 15 and comes with six years of OS and security updates, whereas the M06, which is available with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, runs on One UI Core 7.0 and offers four years of updates.

In photography, the M16 5G features a triple-camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, a 5MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro shooter, while the M06 5G also includes a 50MP primary sensor but may offer a less comprehensive camera system. For selfies, the M16 is equipped with a 13MP front camera compared to an 8MP sensor on the M06.

Both smartphones pack a 5000mAh battery with 25W wired charging for quick recharges and long-lasting performance. The Galaxy M16 5G is priced at INR 11,499 (approximately $132) with sales beginning on March 5, while the Galaxy M06 5G starts at INR 9,499 (around $109) and will be available starting March 7.

These new devices aim to combine affordability, performance, and advanced features, reinforcing Samsung’s commitment to delivering quality 5G smartphones in the competitive Indian market.
