Prince William, the Prince of Wales, officially met England’s newly appointed football manager, Thomas Tuchel, at Windsor Castle. This meeting marks the prince’s return to royal duties following a family vacation in the Caribbean.
Kensington Palace released a photograph of the meeting, where Prince William, who has served as the patron of England’s Football Association (FA) since July 2024, expressed his excitement for the national team’s future. On social media, he shared, “Great to meet with new @england men’s manager Thomas Tuchel today, and hear about plans for the team.”

During the meeting, Tuchel, known for his managerial stints with Chelsea and Bayern Munich, discussed his vision and progress since taking on the role earlier this year. He will lead the England national team in his first match against Albania next month.
FA CEO Mark Bullingham accompanied the Prince of Wales during the meeting. A lifelong Aston Villa supporter, Prince William also touched on his club’s success, adding a personal note to the discussion.
