Haris Rauf: Pakistan Under No Pressure Ahead of Crucial ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Clash Against India

Pakistan’s fast bowler Haris Rauf has dismissed any concerns about pressure ahead of their high-stakes ICC Champions Trophy 2025 encounter against arch-rivals India. He emphasized that the team is focused on correcting past mistakes and delivering a strong performance.

Focused on Victory, Not Pressure

Speaking to reporters in Dubai, Rauf acknowledged the significance of the upcoming do-or-die match but assured that the squad remains calm and confident.

“Our focus is entirely on the match against India. It is a do-or-die situation for us if we want to stay in the tournament,” said Rauf. “We will try our best to secure a win and qualify for the semi-finals.”

Despite the mounting expectations, the right-arm pacer insisted that the team is relaxed and positive, ready to perform in all three departments.

“There is no pressure on us; we are very relaxed. The entire squad is determined to give their best performance,” he added.

Rauf Confident About Fitness & Team’s Strategy

Haris Rauf, who bowled his full quota of 10 overs in Pakistan’s previous game against New Zealand, dismissed any fitness concerns.

“I bowled 10 overs in the last match and feel completely fit,” he assured.

Reflecting on Pakistan’s past successes against India in Dubai, Rauf remained optimistic about repeating history.

“We will aim to play the same kind of cricket as we did when we defeated India in the last two encounters here. The boys are confident, and we hope to deliver a good match.”

Pakistan’s Tough Start to the Champions Trophy

Pakistan’s campaign began with a setback, as they suffered a 60-run defeat against New Zealand on February 19 at the National Bank Cricket Stadium in Karachi.

Chasing a target of 321, Pakistan was bowled out for 260 in 47.2 overs, failing to maintain momentum despite a promising start. New Zealand’s Will Young and Tom Latham powered their team to 320/5 in 50 overs, putting Pakistan under pressure with a disciplined bowling attack.
